Few Christians need to be reminded of the importance of good carpenters. In this medieval workshop, the carpenter's tools are prominently displayed as are medieval architectural forms that can still be found at many churches. Just below the tools in the foreground, the linenfold ornamentation, first introducted in the fifteenth century and popular throughout northern Europe well into the sixteenth century, is a motif associated with the various Gothic styles revived in the United States throughout the nineteenth and early twentieth century. The large chest in the background features detailing similar to many church windows. Planks in the background feature pinacles not unlike those that can be found on some church buildings inspired by the Gothic style.
